Aquino ekes out Batted in Men's Badminton, seeks slots in finals berth

Team Acers pride James Vyrald Ryle C. Aquino cruised past the early upset of Jason Vincent Battad after showcasing power forehands, 2-1, clinching the well-earned victory during the 2024 RSPC Men's Lawn Tennis Semifinals Match.


The 15-year-old paddler exhibited his top-notch performance reigning his supremacy and banking off the victory against his opponent at Davao Del Norte Gymnasium, March 11.

Battad started the game how with his swift backhands combined with his aggressive playstyle, with him continuing his rampage all throughout the set and sealing the first set victory, 6-10.

Battad tried to maintain the tempo of his opponent as he showed some bright spots in the early moments of the second set, yet fell miserably in the end as he failed to deflect the Aquino's signature forehands stealing the spotlight and wrapping off the st, 10-7.

Moreover, Aquino has gone full throttle with his overpowered forehands combined with his great stamina breaking through the defenses of Battad and nabbing the ultimate victory, 10-8.
